Thanksgiving 2017 in the Napa Valley

It’s hard to imagine a more beautiful place to celebrate Thanksgiving than the Napa Valley. The foliage of vines and trees is turning to reds and golds. The musky smell of crush is in the air. Pumpkins are adorning front porches and plump persimmons hang heavily from the trees. Many of the valley’s best restaurants are in preparation for the Thanksgiving feast, and reservations are going fast for Thursday, November 23. Here are a few for your consideration.

Meadowood Napa Valley. You’ll enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner served family-style, along with seasonal desserts. And whether you’re a party of two or twelve, they’ll decorate a table specifically for you. The menu includes butternut squash soup, Maine lobster, two preparations of free range turkey, a duo of house-made bread stuffings, organic Yukon mashed potatoes with turkey gravy, fresh cranberry sauce, garden-to-table vegetables, and candied yams. Seatings are 12:30 in the Vintners Room and 4:30 in the Woodside Room. $125 per person, $65 for children 3 to 12.

Silverado Resort and Spa. The Thanksgiving feast in the Grand Ballroom will feature an elaborate buffet including honey-brined Diestel turkey, slow-roasted natural prime rib and Alaskan halibut. $69 per person, $30 ages 4 to 9. Seatings from 12:30 to 4:30 pm. Or enjoy a more casual meal in the Grill, with continuous seatings from 1 to 9 pm. $48 per person, $24 for  ages 4 to 9.

Harvest Table by Charlie Palmer. A tempting three-course menu with several choices for each course, including crispy pork belly, wild mushroom risotto, braised beef short rib, pumpkin tartlette, and more. Seatings are 2 to 8:30 pm $65 per person, $35 for children under 12.

Meritage Resort and Spa. Enjoy a Champagne feast with a spectacular traditional menu accompanied by live music. One seating at noon. Prices are $85/person for adults and $33 for children 4 to 12.

La Toque. The elegant Napa restaurant, located at the Westin Verasa, will be offering a four-course feast with several items to choose from for each course. $78 per person, with a wine pairing available for an additional $42 per person. There’s a three-course menu for children 10 and under for $42 per child. All guests leave with turkey sandwich leftovers. Seatings from 1 to 5 pm.

Angèle Restaurant & Bar. This classic French bistro overlooking the Napa River will be serving an intimate, traditional supper with a French country twist. Guests will be able to order from a selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts as they sip from a glass of complimentary bubbles.  $68 per person, non-inclusive of tax, beverages, and gratuity. Seatings at noon, 1:45 pm, and 3:45 pm.

FARM at Carneros. With the feel of a sophisticated farm complex, this upscale resort and restaurant is comfortably situated at the base of the rolling Carneros hills. Executive Chef Aaron Meneghelli has designed a three-course, family-style dinner that will include a presentation of classic Thanksgiving dishes and desserts with unique, seasonal twists. $89 per adult and $42 per child under 12. Continual seatings from 1 pm to 7 pm.

Acacia House at Las Alcobas. Chef Chris Cosentino will be offering a special three-course menu, with the first course and dessert plated and main courses served family-style. $95 per person and $49 for beverage pairings. Continuous seatings from 5 to 10 pm.

Lucy at Bardessono. Chef Nate Lindsay will be preparing classic holiday favorites combined with innovative and garden-inspired cuisine. The à la carte menu features starters from $10, main courses from $26, and desserts from $12. Seatings from 10 am to 3pm.

Napa Valley Wine Train. Let your Thanksgiving dinner be a moveable feast as you travel up the valley, enjoying a traditional holiday menu by executive chef Donald Young. There will be Traditional rail seating for lunch and dinner, with prices starting at $171.
