Napa Farmers’ Market 2018

by Traci Stanier

Saturday, April 7th – Tuesday, November 20th

Held Every Tuesday and Saturday

8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Napa Valley is more than just a world-famous wine region. It is also home to a lively twice-weekly farmers market that showcases some of the finest farms and most talented artisans in Northern California. Farm-to-table eating is easy and fun when you shop the Napa Farmers Market. Follow the seasons as every week brings a fresh new cornucopia.

The same warm Mediterranean climate that ripens the coveted wine grapes yields fruits and vegetables of uncompromising quality, a year-round harvest that makes the Napa Farmers Market world-class. Providing a venue for the community to connect with and support more than 60 small regional farms, many are certified organic. Depending on the season, the offerings  include citrus, Delta asparagus, fragrant raspberries, heirloom apples, fresh-dug potatoes, Asian basil, nursery seedlings, exquisite dahlias, pasture-raised meats, wild-caught seafood and pastel farm eggs. We also feature the unique handicrafts of local artisans, and our specialty-food purveyors tempt shoppers with handmade pastry, honey, pupusas, cheeses and granola.

There are weekly chef demonstrations that teach customers how to cook nutritious meals at home using fresh, local, in-season products. Weekly children’s activities educate the next generation of shoppers about healthy eating, local agriculture and where food comes from. Napa County Master Gardeners are on hand to provide advice and solve gardening dilemmas. Food trucks offer hot crepes, cappuccino and other sustenance while shopping. Napans look forward to meeting their neighbors and friends at the market, and the community’s many visitors find treasures to take home.

*The first 100 shoppers on the first day will receive a free market bag!

The market is also seeking volunteers. Contact Connie Evans at connie.evans@stjoe.org for more information.
