by Traci Stanier

These local bars offer an elevated Wine Country experience.

For an elevated Wine Country experience, pair drinks and nibbles with Sonoma and Napa views at one of these six rooftop bars (plus one coming soon). Click through the gallery for details.

Rooftop at Harmon Guest House, Healdsburg: Take in views of Fitch Mountain, the Sonoma hills and downtown Healdsburg while you nosh on small bites and casual dishes like warm crab roll with Dungeness crab and light basil pesto (served with shoestring fries) or lobster arancini (fried lobster and creamy risotto balls). The Herbal cocktail with Sonoma Brothers rye, genmaicha tea, mint, lime and rosemary thyme syrup is the perfect summer sipper. 227 Healdsburg Ave., Healdsburg, 707-431-8220, harmonguesthouse.com. (Courtesy of Harmon Guest House)

Olive Terrace at Montage, Healdsburg: Not a rooftop bar per se, Montage Resort’s Olive Terrace deserves a spot on this list for the elevated experience it offers. Perched high above the Alexander Valley, it overlooks vineyards and hundreds of acres of undeveloped land. It also comes with cozy rocking chairs and fire pits. The Wagyu Beef Tartare is a favorite dish, featuring bits of raw Wagyu beef with garlic chips and bone marrow toast. Order craft cocktails, like the Chickadee with Sipsmith gin, lillet rose, fresh grapefruit, lemon verbena and Fever Tree mediterranean tonic, at adjacent Scout Field Bar. montagehotels.com/healdsburg. Coming soon: Roof 106 at The Matheson, Healdsburg: Chef Dustin Valette’s ambitious new project, The Matheson, is a multi-story building that includes The Matheson restaurant on the ground level, a mezzanine overlooking the restaurant for private events and a rooftop lounge, Roof 106. The rooftop lounge will be a more casual indoor-outdoor setting with craft cocktails, small plates and seasonal flatbreads from a custom 3,800-pound wood-fired Mugnaini oven. 106 Matheson St., Healdsburg, thematheson.com. Sky & Vine at Archer Hotel, Napa: Located on the sixth floor of downtown Napa’s Archer Hotel, Sky & Vine is an expansive rooftop terrace with fire pits and 360-degree views. Order elevated bar bites from chef Charlie Palmer, like his famous Lobster Corn Dogs, and sip cleverly-named cocktails. Case in point: The Sloe Your Mole. 1260 1st St., Napa, 707-819-2490, skyandvine.com. (Courtesy of Archer Hotel)

Mercantile Social at Andaz Hotel, Napa: Just a block over from Sky & Vine, the Andaz Hotel has a quieter, second-floor roof deck called the Mercantile Terrace. The intimate space has fire pits and cabanas and serves food from its downstairs lounge, like a b.y.o (build your own) burger, and original cocktails. Try the Llama Drop, made with Barsol pisco, lime juice, St. George raspberry liqueur, Dolin Blanc, and simple syrup. 1450 1st St, Napa, 707-687-1234, hyatt.com(Courtesy of Mercantile Social)
