In honor of Women’s History Month, the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) is hosting an event to celebrate the contributions of women in the culinary industry. The event, entitled Women in Food and Wine, will feature a film screening, a Q&A session, and a walk-around tasting reception.
The afternoon will kick off with a screening of Chef Elizabeth Falkner’s latest film, “Sorry, We’re Closed,” which explores the struggles of independent restaurants during times of crisis and the need for food systems to adapt. After the film, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with Chef Falkner, as well as special guest Jennifer Reichardt, a fifth-generation Sonoma County duck farmer and owner/winemaker at Raft Wines. More guests are expected to be announced in the near future.
Following the Q&A, attendees will be treated to a walk-around tasting experience in the Hestan Kitchen, featuring signature dishes from each chef. The event is all-inclusive, with the ticket price covering the film screening, Q&A, food, and wine/beer.
Chef Tanya Holland, a friend of the CIA, will be hosting the event. She will introduce the guest chefs and facilitate the Q&A session. The event promises to be an intimate and engaging celebration of the achievements of women in the food and wine industry.
Overall, Women in Food and Wine is an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn more about the contributions of women in the culinary industry and to sample delicious food and wine. With the support of the CIA and the involvement of talented chefs and winemakers, this promises to be a memorable event. Get your tickets here.
