Outdoor Concerts in the Napa Valley

The Napa Valley provides a variety of opportunities to enjoy live music and the great outdoors in a variety of gorgeous venues from late spring through autumn. Live concert events are scheduled throughout the Napa Valley year round, with something for every musical taste.

May:

BottleRock Napa Valley Held each year at the end of May, BottleRock Napa Valley is one of the country’s premiere music festivals. The three-day festival features some of the world’s top musicians on five music stages, plus the BottleRock Culinary Stage showcasing one-of-a-kind culinary and celebrity pairings. BottleRock offers the best in wine, food and craft brews to complement the music and create an authentic wine country experience for festival guests.

June:

Napa Valley Jazz Getaway: Renowned jazz artist Brian Culbertson’s annual Napa Valley Jazz Getaway each summer is a five-day luxury wine and jazz festival featuring an all-star cast of jazz and R&B greats. Attendees enjoy dinners, wine tasting events at many of Napa’s most iconic wines, and concerts at a variety of Napa Valley locations, culminating with the main event at the Oxbow Commons.

Summer Sundays at Goose & Gander – Goose & Gander in St. Helena offers music on its patio from 1 to 4 p.m. every Sunday from June through September.  There is no cover for these performances featuring a variety of genres from rock, soul, blues and more. FREE

Napa City Nights – With terraced seating and beautiful views of the Napa River, the Veterans Memorial Park Amphitheater in downtown Napa is the perfect venue for an outdoor musical evening. Musical genres include jazz, rock, country, world, blues, pop and folk. Bring a blanket and a picnic basket and enjoy free entertainment for the whole family 6:30 to 10 p.m. every Friday all summer long. FREE

Music in the Park, Yountville – The Town of Yountville and the Yountville Chamber of Commerce present Music in the Park, located at Veterans Memorial Park in Yountville from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sundays during the summer. Bring blankets, chairs, favorite drinks and favorite people to enjoy a beautiful evening in Yountville. A featured food truck will be available at each event with a special menu available for purchase. Come for the Music, Stay for the Food!  FREE

Musical Picnics in Lyman Park –This series of free, family-friendly concerts is held in St. Helena’s charming Lyman Park from 6 to 8 p.m. every other Thursday evening through the summer. Guests are encouraged to pack a picnic dinner, or purchase a meal from one of the visiting food trucks, and bring low lawn chairs and a blanket.  This old-fashioned evening of eclectic music sometimes also offers free ice cream for the kids. FREE

Calistoga Concerts in the Park – This series of free concerts happens Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. from June 14 through August 16 in Pioneer Park in Calistoga. Families and friends bring blankets, chairs and picnic dinner to enjoy this annual Calistoga summer celebration. Adult beverages are allowed (for those 21 and over) and select, local wines are available for purchase, highlighting a different winery each week. For boxed dinners to go, head to one of Calistoga’s participating restaurants. FREE

Long Meadow Ranch’s Bluegrass-Fed Concerts – This intimate family venue in St. Helena features country, blues, and rock performers each summer through October.

July:

Margrit Mondavi Summer Concerts – For nearly 50 years, the Margrit Mondavi Summer Concert Series, in partnership with BottleRock Presents, offers headlining musical entertainment every Saturday in July on the sprawling grass terrace of the iconic winery.

Festival Napa Valley – This high-end festival runs ten days each July, and features International luminaries in classical music, from vocalists to orchestral groups, to dance. Performances are held at some of the most spectacular wineries throughout the valley, accompanied by premium cuisine and wines.

Napa County Fair – Held each year on the 4th of July in downtown Calistoga, The Napa County Fair is an all-American, vintage 4th of July family event starting with a classic parade through downtown, followed by the Fair with food and drink, live music and entertainment free with fair admission.

Napa Porchfest: “Out of the garage and onto the porch!” is the slogan for Napa Porchfest, one of the most enjoyable days of the year. Always on the last Sunday in July, Porchfest offers dozens of local bands playing on the porches of many of the charming and grand old homes in the historic neighborhoods in downtown Napa. This free event encourages attendees to walk and ride bicycles to experience Napa’s local talent and beautiful neighborhoods. FREE

August:

Music in the Vineyards – For classical musical buffs, Music in the Vineyards has been featuring chamber music in intimate winery settings from Napa to Calistoga each summer for more than 20 years.

Blues, Brews & BBQ – This annual event occurs each August in downtown Napa with two live stages for blues performing artists near First and Main Streets. Admission is free and the event is open to the public from noon to 6 p.m. FREE

Napa Town & Country Fair – The area’s largest annual fair, the Napa Town & Country Fair runs five days each August at the Napa Valley Expo in downtown Napa, offering nationally touring musical acts, along with regional favorites every day of the fair, free with fair admission.
