Cabernet Season – Warm Up in the Napa Valley this Winter!

Toasting Glasses of Cabernet at Napa Valley Vineyard

It’s always a fine time to visit Napa Valley, but mild temperatures, smaller crowds, epic deals, and special events make Cabernet Season- November through April- one to remember. During these months the region seems to roll out the red carpet — or lemon yellow carpet, to be exact — as the fields come alive with blankets of mustard flowers. Cool events abound, too, including the Napa Truffle Festival, Napa Lighted Art Festival, and Napa Valley Restaurant Week in January, and the Yountville International Short Film Festival  in February. You can even lace up for March’s Napa Valley Marathon, one of the “12 Top Marathons Worth Traveling For.”

Want to save your pennies for bring-home bottles? During Cabernet Season there are plenty of budget-friendly ways to explore Napa Valley. Make the Napa Valley Welcome Center your first stop and pick up Downtown Napa’s Tasting Room Card for only $15. This card provides 50 percent off at tasting rooms all within easy walking distance. Up-Valley you can purchase the Calistoga Winter in the Wineries Passport ($60) for complimentary wine tasting flights at 16 Calistoga wineries. Or check out St. Helena’s Little Book of Big Experiences ($75) offering visitors 15 special winery experiences, such as food and wine pairings, barrel tastings, and wine club member benefits for a fraction of the price.

Check-In: This slower-paced season leaves plenty of time for relaxation, so settle in at one of these fantastic lodging properties that include some serious perks:
